Rosscarbery Walks & Cycling

Cycling:

Sometimes pedal power is the only way to travel. There’s something incredibly satisfying about exploring the West Cork coast from the saddle of a bike… travelling at your own pace under your own steam.

Cycling gives you a very different perspective of West Cork’s stunning coastal landscape. Skibbereen, Beara and Sheep’s Head all have a network of well-established cycleways, with maps and signage to guide you along quiet, cycle-friendly byways as you take in the scenery and enjoy the peace.

Cycle West Cork will deliver bikes and all the relevant safety gear direct to the Celtic Ross Hotel for you, and will pick it all up for you once you’re done. You can choose between traditional bikes or electric-assisted bikes (you are on holiday, after all), and you can also select from a range of self- guided excursions or expert led tours.

There are also hire bikes through the Clonakilty Bike Scheme direct from Reception. Just ask and we can organise it for you.

Regardless of which cycling path you take around West Cork, the Celtic Ross Hotel is your best bet for somewhere to use as a base. We offer comfortable spacious rooms in a great location with a wide range of offers to give you a fantastic rate or package for a great price.

Exploring on Foot:

Walking is a wonderful way to explore the area around Rosscarbery as you take in the sights, enjoy the fresh air and immerse yourself in an atmosphere that’s uniquely West Cork.

You’ll find everything from a relaxed stroll along the beach to an energetic full-day ramble available right outside the hotel. The beauty that defines the Wild Atlantic Way is literally on our doorstep, with the Blue Flag Warren Beach a short walk from the hotel, and the newly refurbished cliff walk over to Owenahincha offering stunning views across Rosscarbery Bay to Galley Head lighthouse and beyond.

Whatever your preferred way of exploring the countryside is, Rosscarbery walks or even going further on West Cork cycling routes will be sure to giving you the fun and relaxation that you're looking for.

Walking lets you enjoy it all at your own pace, and on your own terms. Ask at Reception for more information on local walking routes.
