The air is salt-rich, the pace is easy, and by afternoon you are welcomed with fresh coffee and homemade cookies before arriving at the Celtic Ross Hotel, where a drink in the Library Bar and an evening of locally sourced, thoughtfully prepared food offer warmth and grounding as the day fades.

Morning comes softly with breakfast before you leave for the quiet beauty of Mealagh Valley, following the ancient line of St. Finbarr’s Way toward Drimoleague, where stories rise naturally from the land and the path gradually softens, becoming lighter underfoot as it opens out toward Mullach Méise. Along the way, a carefully prepared lunch is waiting in a place chosen not just for rest, but for wonder — overlooking the wide, shimmering expanse of Bantry Bay, inviting you to pause, breathe, and simply be. By afternoon, the journey resolves in Drimoleague with an experience that lingers long after — the deep, enveloping heat of a tent sauna, the sharp clarity of a dip in the River Ilen for those who wish, and the simple pleasure of sweet tea, Glenilen yogurt, and fresh fruit shared in good company.
