People of Rosscarbery- Nora Hubbert

18/04/2020 | People of Rosscarbery
For our Saturday “People of Ross” we feature the wonderful Nora Hubbert - A visit to Rosscarbery is not complete without a visit to Hubbert’s Crafts, also home to Vintage Dress 2 Impress consignment store, at the top of the town square.

Previously Hubbert’s Foodstore for those that have frequented Rosscarbery for many years, Nora transitioned from groceries to crafts back in 1997 when the Celtic Ross Hotel first opened & specialised in provided quality Irish made crafts.
2010 saw the beginning of a global recession but

Nora was quick to reinvent her business yet again. This transition allowed fashionistas to continue following the trends at much more affordable prices. Buy Less, Buy Better a movement to sustainable fashion is the new trend.

Not only does Nora stock amazing ‘gently-used’ designer fashion labels such as Escada, Karen Millen, Coast, Tommy Hilfiger, Mex, J. Ribhoff, Fenn Right Manson and many more all available in women's clothing and accessories at the prices you want to pay.

She also stocks a selection of shoes and bags to satisfy any IMELDA MARCOS wannabes. But it doesn’t stop there, Nora also has designer jewellery and accessories to up-style any outfit AND she also offers ‘hat hire’ for that special occasion. While in the craft section you can buy gifts of anything from candles to hand crafted lamps. As our Maxine always says, “you can always rely on Nora for a lovely gift”.

So while nobody knows what the long term effects of the Covid 19 virus will have on the economy a visit to Hubbert’s Crafts / Vintage Dress 2 Impress is a must. We suggest that the Ladies go have a browse around the shop while their men folk enjoy a relaxing drink in one of the local Hostelries – Nora has a ‘no pressure’ attitude which will allow you all the time you need to look & find that exotic ensemble / A must have outfit.

Nora also one of the Faces of Rosscarbery by Shay Hunston’s photographer “Faces of the Wild Atlantic Way” exhibition part of the Celtic Ross Hotel’s 20th Anniversary celebrations.

Nora enjoys talking with guests from all over the world and sharing some insights/recommendations not only about fashion but some of West Cork’s other great hidden gems. She has even been known to close the shop for 10 minutes to drive our guests back to the hotel when a rainstorm ☔️ descended! Now that is hospitality....

So when staying at the Celtic Ross Hotel after #covid19 please, please do take a moment to pop in to and say hello and have a look around the shop. Rosscarbery #purecork #community #staycation #wildatlanticway #keepdiscovering #peopleofross #inittogether
